Breaking Ground!
For 25 years the existing gates at both entrances were functional and adequate, though not entirely user-friendly. Now we have an opportunity to design and install new gates that will blend form, function, art and architecture to provide wider openings and improved accessibility for strollers, wheelchairs, bicycles and adaptive equipment. We broke ground August 31, 2022.
Core Trail Fencing is complete but awaiting the final coats of black paint in the spring when temperatures allow.
Zach Buckallew and Tim Wilson hold up the Gate Schematic Design image in steel frame to scale
Aspen trees and branches are welded to the Gate frame in Tim Wilson’s shop.
Leaves and a river scene are added to the Gate.
The upper dome canopy of Aspen leaves is added to the Gate.
The Yampa River Botanic Park sign will be added.
A Trillium flower cut from metal will complete the look.
