Steamboat Springs High School senior Emily Hack wrote and tested recipes using edible invasive and native plants found in the Yampa Valley as part of her work towards her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Emily then propagated and planted three endangered local plants including Mimulus gemmiparus (Weber’s monkeyflower,) Descurainia pinnata (Western tansymustard) and Oreoxis humilis (Rocky Mountain alpinparsley) in the Botanic Park.
